Smoke Alarm Recall

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, nearlyhalf a million smoke alarms are being recalled due to a risk of failure to alert consumers to a fire. Name of the Product:Kidde dual-sensor(photoelectric and ionization) smoke alarms models PI2010 and PI9010. Hazard: A yellow cap was possibly left on during the manufacturing process. This can cover one (or two) of the sensors on the device - comprimising its ability to detect smoke - and its ability to alert consumers to a fire in their home. How do I know if my Kidde smoke detector has been recalled? Consumers are asked to remove their devices from their wall or ceiling and inspect it for a yellow cap (see picture - thanks to Consumer Product Safety Commission). If a yellow cap is located, dont take the device apart. Instead, contact Kidde for a replacement.
