County Fire Protection, Inc. designs, installs, tests, inspects and services fire alarm systems. In addition, County Fire Protection, Inc. inspects and services virtually all brands of fire alarm systems. The purpose of a fire alarm system is to detect a fire and provide warning to building occupants to evacuate the premises. Automatic devices, such as smoke and heat detectors, sense the fire and then activate audio-visual devices. These audio-visual devices, such as horns, speakers, and strobes, act to notify the occupants of a building about an emergency situation. Manual pull stations also activate the audio-visuals, but rely on a person to operate them. Fire alarm systems must be thoroughly inspected annually in accordance with NFPA 72.

Alarm Monitoring Services are available through County Fire Protection, Inc. We provide fire alarm monitoring that is dedicated to providing the most responsive and reliable monitoring service to "Exceed Your Expectations!"

6 Reasons To Regularly Test & Inspect Your Fire Alarm System

NFPA 72 Fire Alarm Monitoring Service NE Ohio Kent Columbus Toledo Cleveland Cincinnati

  1. Lives are at stake! Your fire alarm system will only operate properly if it is maintained. Some impairments will not be obvious without testing!
  2. To meet the requirements of your local building department, fire inspectors and even your insurance carrier.
  3. Your insurance carrier may reject a claim if you do not have proof of complete annual inspections.
  4. To limit your liability for any potential injuries suffered by tenants, employees or guests to your business.
  5. To assure that the system does not create nuisance alarms that waste Fire Department resources. This could put others' lives in jeopardy and many jurisdictions will charge the building owner for multiple nuisance alarms.
  6. It is required by the National Fire Alarm Code! (NFPA 72)

IT'S THE LAW

As a building owner/business owner, it is important for you to have designated persons with some knowledge of the fire alarm system. At the very least, these people should be able to recognize when the system is impaired, understand how to reset the system and know when to call for service. Building maintenance personnel or other trained people are often able to do visual inspections, but yearly, extensive testing must be done by a qualified, state-licensed contractor like County Fire Protection.
